We’re looking for a permanent, part-time Dietary Aide/Dishwasher to join our Village team. If you are a strong team player, then we’d like to hear from you!

The successful candidate will have a passion for providing high quality care and support for seniors.   

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Gathering and replacing supplies in kitchen, serving, and dining areas as required.
• Preparing tables in dining areas before mealtimes, with items such as napkins,
• placemats, utensils, condiments, and beverages.
• Operating dishwashing machine, stacking clean dishes and utensils; setting, clearing and cleaning dining tables.
• Operating dispensing machines and other related equipment.
• Reporting unsafe or faulty equipment to the Kitchen Manager.
• Performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping and damp mopping floors.
• Sanitizing counter tops, sinks, machines and equipment; spot washing walls and splash areas.
• Removing and disposing of trash.
• Tidying kitchenettes including draining and resetting coffee urn.
• Performing other departmental duties as assigned. 

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• Must be physically capable to perform all the required tasks as outlined in the job description.
• As per OH&S (medical history/or requirements).
• Ensures that the Golden Life Management POLICIES AND PROCEDURES are practiced.
• Must be accountable for all actions taken while employed by Golden Life Management.
• Based on Individual; cooperation, attitude, Resident Focus, Team Work, Problem Solving skills, and application of the Social Model of Care will impact a person's candidacy.
• Able to read and write English.
• Has taken Food Safe or other required courses.
• Must have ability to be self-motivated for this position.
• Can provide a negative TB Screening test.
• Can provide complete immunization records as outlined in the BC Centre for Disease Control for Health Care workers
• Can Clear Vulnerable Sector - Criminal Record Check

What we offer you

Compensation: The $24.34 per hour rate for this position currently falls under provincial wage-levelling.
