We’re seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide (HCA) who is passionate about providing quality person-centered care and being part of a supportive team environment.
What You'll do
- Respect and promote the dignity, choices and individuality of each resident by recognizing them as a whole individual with unique cultural, spiritual and psychological needs;
- Provide personal care to residents and provide assistance as required;
- Perform delegated clinical procedures, record observations, report problem or condition changes to nurse supervisor and participate in team planning;
- Assist resident and families during admission, move-out or transfer process by orientating them to other staff and residents and providing support as required;
- Use medical and mobility equipment safely, reporting any malfunctions to the nursing supervisor;
- Assist with feeding and other meal-service related duties;
- Interact with residents, guests and staff in a courteous and respectful manner;
- Complete required documentation;
- Follow security and infection control policies and procedures; and,
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Current registration and in good standing as a Health Care Assistant with the College of LPN’s and HCA’s of Alberta (CLHA)
- Certificates in First Aid and Food Safe preferred;
- Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and as a team-player;
- Physically capable of lifting up to 10kgs;
- Proven computer experience;
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- A negative TB test and up-to-date immunization record.
- Flexible schedule and broad availability across days, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
