Administrative Assistant

We’re looking for a permanent, full-time Administrative Assistant to join our Crest View Village in Creston, BC. If you are a strong team player with excellent organization skills, and a passion for providing high quality care and support for seniors, then we’d like to hear from you!
 
The successful candidate will provide support with various day-to-day administrative tasks such as coordinating the inbound and outbound delivery of mail, answering and directing incoming calls, and providing overall clerical support and assistance to Management and staff.

Other duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Ordering required office supplies, placing and receiving orders, and maintaining complete inventory.
  • Sending and receiving couriers; Stamping and mailing outgoing correspondence and delivering mail to the post box daily.
  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive office filing. system for reference materials, reports and documents.
  • Scheduling staff for regular rotations as directed by the Community Manager.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of current residents, and assisting residents as needed.
  • Under the direction of the Community Manager or designate, assist with managing the accounts payable, accounts receivable and bookkeeping functions as needed.
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • High school graduation and successful completion of Office Procedures or Office Management Coursework; or, an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
  • Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office; Excel including formulas, Word including formatting, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience in operating and administering an electronic payroll and scheduling program.
  • Must be accountable for all actions taken while employed by Golden Life Management.
  • Ensures that the Golden Life Management POLICIES AND PROCEDURES are practiced.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Displays individual cooperation, attitude, Resident focus, team work, problem solving skills, and application of the Social Model of Care.
  • Can effectively multi-task, manage time effectively and prioritize work.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • The ability to anticipate needs and take initiative to complete work in the absence of direct supervision and constant direction.
  • Must be able to physically capable to perform all the required tasks as outlined in the job description.
  • As per OH&S (medical history/or requirements).
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector - Criminal Record Check.
  • Physician’s Waiver, Immunization Record and TB screen.

Compensation: The $30.54 per hour for this position currently falls under provincial wage-levelling.
